Maleah started a gymnastics class today and loved it!! I was a little worried about her because she hasn't ever been in a class like this before and she doesn't really like to do anything on her own........she likes to hold on to my leg while she's doing things. BUT luckily she surprised me -- she got right out there and joined in. Hmmmm.......maybe she's a natural -- stay tuned for the 2024 Olympics!! :)

Cameron is 1 month old
And, one of my favorite Cameron pictures was taken for Valentine's Day when he was just 6 months old.....
(He's going to hate me for this one when he gets older!)

We got a few projects done around the house while dad was here........and willing to help!
First, Jeff & dad built a work bench to help clean up the garage. The bench is done, but the garage isn't exactly clean yet! One step at a time, right?!!?!!
The building in progress.....
Next, Jeff had a pile of rocks delivered and dumped on the driveway that had to be moved and spread in the front flower beds. Before spreading, though, we needed weed fabric -- we do not want to see any weeds popping up through these rocks!
Here's the rock and the workers.....
The finished flower beds.....
Not only did dad help out on a few projects, but he mowed the lawn several times also. I was especially thankful for that since Jeff is out-of-town and I would have been the one doing it.
Thanks dad for all of your help!
There was a fake cow to milk.....
And there was face painting -- or in our case arm painting.....

Today was Cameron's 2nd day of Kindergarten (his first day in the afternoon) and his 1st day riding the school bus! Everything went really well this morning -- he was excited and got right on the bus. Being the worried mom that I am I drove to the school and met the bus when it arrived -- Cameron got off with a big smile on his face and gave me a high five as he walked into the school.
The trip home from school wasn't quite as good. His drop-off time was suppose to be 3 o'clock so at about 5 minutes to 3:00 Rena and I headed outside to wait (Maleah was napping). At about 3:10 the bus pulled into our neighborhood, but was only letting the kids off that lived on the other side of the street. So, Cameron was suppose to ride the bus around the whole neighborhood until he could exit the bus right in front of our house. All of this sounded fine except that when the bus got to our house -- it just kept right on going!!! I was standing out there in our driveway with my camera all ready for a picture, waving to Cameron -- and the bus just kept on driving. I then, of course, started running down the sidewalk waving and yelling to the bus, but it still just kept right on going. After I made a phone call to the school and the school made a phone call to the bus driver Cameron arrived safely home at about 3:35.
He looked a little shaken up and worried, but was ok. Hopefully tomorrow will go a little smoother!

The day started today with Cameron's favorite breakfast -- pancakes! He decided that since he is now 6 years old that he is probably old enough to flip his own pancake. So, here he is flippin' his own pancake at 6 o'clock this morning!
After breakfast it was time to head to school. He will be in the afternoon kindergarten class for the year, but on this first day he had to be there at 7:45 in the morning. He's dressed in his favorite Star Wars t-shirt and ready to go.
Here he is out front of the school. He's there (with his Star Wars backpack on), but not quite ready to go in yet.
Here he is in the building -- outside of his classroom......still not quite ready to join the class yet.
And, here he is when he finally HAD to join the class. He was a little scared and nervous, but he had a GREAT first day and is ready to go back tomorrow!
While Cameron was at school the girls and I made some cupcakes to celebrate Cameron's birthday.
After school we went to McDonald's for lunch and then back home for a few more presents. Oh my -- more Star Wars!
Here's Cameron thanking Rena with a big hug for getting him the Obi-Wan Kenobi that he's "been dying to get"!
Time for a final celebration............cupcakes and ice-cream with the neighbors!
Cameron with his friend Joey that lives right across the street.
Cameron with his friend Zachary that also lives across the street -- right next to Joey!
It was a busy, fun day for Cameron -- he had a great 6th birthday and survived his first day of kindergarten!!

Last night we had a barbeque with our neighbors to celebrate Cameron's 6th birthday. So hard to believe, but Cameron will be 6 years old this coming Tuesday - August 19th.
We had a fun time last night and Cameron got overloaded with his favorite things (it won't be hard to tell what his "favorite things" are by looking at the pictures below!).
We started the fun in the backyard playing, eating and then opening presents.....
Then we moved on to a gift sent from the McCullough's -- a Star Wars Lego set and a Star Wars game for the Playstation. Cameron was definitely loving his birthday right now -- and there was even more to come.......
Next, it was 2 Lego Star Wars sets from Grandma and Grandpa Keyes!
And finally, he ended the gift opening for the night with a Star Wars poster and a Star Wars book from Jeff and I. WOW -- he was in heaven!!!
After opening gifts we moved inside for some cake and ice-cream. And, what theme do you think Cameron chose for his cake??? YUP, Star Wars -- what better way to celebrate then with a light saber birthday cake.......
After cake and ice-cream Cameron had to decide which Stars Wars gift to open first. They all ended up getting opened and he immediately started in on one of the Lego sets..........
Everyone joined in on the Lego's -- the girls used Cameron's old lego's to build themselves ships.
After a little bit of inside playing we moved back outdoors for one more present...........
.........a brand-new bike --- RED, Cameron's favorite color.
Cameron was really excited about his new bike and jumped right on. Only problem was that this new bike is not only bigger than his old bike, but it stops differently -- it has hand brakes whereas his old bike brakes by pedaling backwards. He did great riding the bike, but when it came to stopping the first time he forgot what to do and he ran straight into the light post that is in our front yard. Of course when he hit the light post with the front tire the bike stopped fast and he slid forward and landed pretty hard on the bar...........which as you can imagine did not feel good! So, it took a little bit of a "pep talk" by Jeff, but Cameron got back on the bike and tried again. This time Jeff ran along beside him until he was comfortable starting, riding and stopping on his own.
It was a good birthday for Cameron -- he LOVES his new red bike and all of his new Star Wars things!
