MALEAH IS 8 YEARS OLD!

We all had a great day celebrating Maleah's 8th birthday!

The day started with doughnuts and cinnamon rolls.......

Later in the day we ended up at the movies watching Monster's University (it was opening day and she talked about it being on her birthday for weeks before it came out).  Our last stop was The Old Spaghetti Factory......

Time for presents......

A new watch, sunglasses and hat.......

Time to celebrate with some ice-cream......

Back at home........

So hard to believe that our "baby" is 8 years old.  We all had a great day celebrating Maleah!

Happy 8th Birthday Maleah!

MALEAH'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

We started celebrating Maleah's birthday early this year.  Her birthday isn't until the 21st of June, but we decided to have her birthday party with her friends on June 8th.  The kids got out of school on the 7th and we wanted to have it before her friends started going on vacation.

So, we had a pool party!......

Uh-oh.......where are the lifeguards?......

There they are -- having fun in the pool.......

At least a couple of our lifeguards are paying attention........

Time for pizza........

Now they are paying attention (or maybe they just needed somewhere to sit to eat).......

More swimming after pizza......

The party guests -- Jasmine, Kaci, Lorea, Maleah, Grace, Carina, Alyssa and Gabby......

Time for cake (cookie cake)......

......and a little bit more swimming.......

Maleah - almost 8 years old......

GOLD RUSH DAY

One of Cameron's fun, end-of-year activities was Gold Rush Day.  All of the 4th graders "stake their claim" on the lower field and spend the day living like they did during the gold rush (with modern conveniences!)

Cameron dressed the part......

Cameron and Max......

Sunflower seed spitting contest.......

Cameron's tent and tent mates.......

Cameron avoided the jail and spent the day panning for gold, playing black jack and hanging out with the other miners (aka his 4th grade friends)!

FLOATING SEA LAB

Rena's class got to take a field trip on a "floating sea lab" and I got to go!  It was a great field trip (one of the best I've been on) -- the amount of "hands on" that they got to do and experience was amazing.  They had such a great time and learned so much.

We started the day by loading the bus at 10am and heading to Mission Bay for lunch.  Rena and her friend Makayla on the first bus ride.......

After lunch we got back on the bus and went to the boat.  Rena and her friend Ashlyn on the second bus ride......

At one point Rena and Ashlyn were given the job of making sure the rope coming up out of the ocean made it back into this garbage can -- they did a pretty good job......

Throughout the afternoon the kids all got to touch things, test things, and just look at things.......

That's a seal laying on the platform behind Rena......

We got off the boat a little after 5pm and arrived back at school a little after 6pm.  It was a long day, but such a great day full of fun (and learning!)  :)
