DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE

On the Friday night back in April that I was driving to Las Vegas with Stacy, Jeff and the girls were attending the Daddy-Daughter Dance at the kids school.  The kids went home with our friends, The McCullough's, after school so that Grace could help the girls get ready.  She fancied them up with some make-up and fixed their hair.  She did a great job and the girls had a lot of fun getting ready with her.

These are the professional pictures taken at the dance......

These were taken in The McCullough's backyard.....

Jeff actually got to attend two different dances this year.  The school broke the night up and had the kindergarten, first and second graders come from 5:30 - 7:00 and then third, fourth and fifth graders were from 7:30 - 9:00.  Jeff did a switch-off at The McCullough's with the girls.

Everyone had a fun evening.  The girls looked beautiful all dressed up and loved spending the night with their dad!

WE LOVE AUNT STACY

On Monday Stacy had to fly back home.  :(  Unfortunately I had to work and the kids had school, but we had a little bit of time after school before she had to get to the airport.  We ended up out to dinner.....

The weekend went by way too fast, but I was glad that Stacy came here and drove to Vegas with me.  The car adventure was actually quite fun because we were together!  :)

All of us are looking forward to summer in hopes that all of The McCullough's will be back for a visit!

HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY DAD!

Dad's 70th birthday was on April 19th and I got to celebrate with him in Las Vegas!!!

Stacy came up with the plan for the weekend and it was a GREAT plan!  The weekend started on Thursday afternoon when Stacy flew into San Diego.  We couldn't leave for Vegas until Friday because I had to work, but Stacy came here so that she could see the kids and drive with me.

After school on Friday Stacy and I hit the road.......a very BUSY road, but we were on it!  It was quite the adventure trying to get there (and a couple of times we even thought we should turn around and make dad drive to us), but after about 6 hours we arrived at The Red Rock Casino!

We met Aimie, Bonnie and dad for a birthday drink and a little bit of slot machine time!  Our slot machine time isn't too exciting -- you can't win much when you don't bet much -- the good news, though, is that I played penny slot machines for about an hour and only lost 5 bucks!  :)

On Saturday morning we got up and went to the ball park to cheer dad on at his baseball game......

After the game -- Bonnie, Aimie, Me, Dad and Stacy.......

Fred (The Fred Guy that joined us on our summer trip in Palm Springs last summer), Aimie, Me, Dad and Stacy......

Back at home we had some birthday cake -- Stacy made his favorite -- a pig pickin' cake......

We enjoyed the nice weather outside on Dad and Bonnie's porch while enjoying the cake.  Dad's friend, Honey, came over to visit also.  Honey is a friend from Puyallup that lived next door to us when I was growing up so it's always nice to see her when we are there.....

Dad got himself cleaned up and ready to celebrate and party for his 70th!......

We all loaded into the mini (the party bus for the night!) and headed to one of dad's favorite buffets for his birthday dinner.....

After dinner we headed to Fremont Street to watch the night shows and do the "Flightlinez"......

Stacy and I told dad that we wanted to take him on the "Flightlinez" ride with us for his birthday so while we were down on Fremont Street we did it!  The Flighlinez is a zipline that runs over Freemont Street -- it runs 800 feet and can get moving up to 30 mph.  This picture is not of us, but what it looks like from the start of the ride -- it runs underneath the canopy where the Freemont Street Experience Show is displayed....

We survived!!!  This is us at the end of the ride......

After that ride it was time for a drink!  :) .......

Saturday night we ended up back at a casino by dad and Bonnie's house that Fred was staying at.  Dad, Stacy and I stayed and had a good time playing some more penny slots and some roulette.....no big wins, but no big losses either!

Sunday morning we got up and headed out for another buffet.  This time we ended up at a yummy brunch that had some good crab legs (the reason dad chose it!)!

Aimie, Me and Stacy -- after filling our bellies way too full!......

After brunch it was time to end the weekend.  Aimie had a flight to catch and Stacy and I had to hit the road back to San Diego.

It was a GREAT weekend and I was so happy to get to spend dad's birthday with him doing the things that he wanted to do (although he might not have chosen the Flighlinez if Stacy and I hadn't insisted!).

Happy 70th Birthday Dad!  I love you!

Back in April we made a quick trip up to LA on a Saturday morning to visit some friends from Washington that were at Disneyland for Spring Break.  We met them at their hotel and then went out to lunch before they had to head to the airport.

Isabella and Rena......

Pamela and Darren......

Cameron and Max......

Me and Pamela......

I LOVE that we live so close to a place where our friends want to vacation -- then I get to see them -- even if it is just a short lunch date I LOVE it!!!

MALEAH THE AP

Along with Rena's winning raffle ticket for the Librarian for the day, Maleah also had a winning raffle ticket -- from the Assistant Principal for a day raffle.

She arrived at school one Friday morning and got her official "Assistant Principal" badge for the day......

Her first official duty was to stand up front at Friday Flag Salute & do whatever she was told to do.....

During the day she got to walk around with Mrs. Barbara, the (real) Assistant Principal, and go into classrooms, observe and write encouraging notes to the teachers.  This was her visiting my classroom that I was in while I was long-term subbing.....(and I got a very nice note from her!)......

Maleah, Mrs. Barbara, Mrs. Holmes (The Principal) and Ezekial (who won the Principal for the day raffle) talking to another student......

At the end of the day Ezekial and Maleah had to go outside and direct traffic at pick-up......

Ok, they didn't really direct traffic, but they observed and directed students while they ate a popsicle.....
At bed time that night Maleah said to me "I wish we could start this day over."  When I asked why? she said "because it was such an awesome day at school I want to do it all over agin!"

RENA THE LIBRARIAN

Back in March the kids school did a fundraiser called "The Gift of Time" where each of the teachers offered up some sort of event or activity that the students could bid on and then the highest bidder would get to do it.  Rena's teacher offered up "teacher for the day" and Rena really wanted to do it, but on the last day of bidding it was up to $100.....way out of our ballpark!  So, we decided that instead of bidding for her teacher we would buy one raffle ticket for each kid for $10.  They each got to choose which raffle they wanted to enter -- they could chose Principal for the day, Assistant Principal for the day, Librarian for the day or Game time with Coach Keltz (one of the PE Teacher).

Rena chose to put her raffle ticket in Librarian for the day and she WON!!!!

Here she is hard at work with Mrs. Schneider......

.....Rena had a great day as the Librarian.  She got to read books to the classes that came in (including Maleah's), she got to check out books and Mrs. Schneider bought her lunch at Rubio's!  It was a fantastic day!

HAPPY EASTER!

Everyone woke up on Easter morning to find that the Easter Bunny had delivered baskets and hidden eggs.

The girls each got a new Spring outfit, some candy and some gum.......

Cameron got a new tank top, a little Lego thing and some candy and gum......

Searching for eggs......

Checking out the inside of the eggs......

We went to church and then out for doughnuts......

Cameron just loves it when his sister sits on him and tries to give him some kisses!  :)  .......

After doughnuts we stopped at a nearby Nursery.....

Finally, it was back home to enjoy the afternoon........
