A SNOW DAY

We woke up this morning to snow, ice and NO school! We didn't have enough snow to make a snowman, but we had enough to go outside and play around for a little while.

Maleah starting eating the snow as soon as she walked outside. It was really quite disgusting since it was pretty much just sitting on top of the driveway. The girl is addicted to eating it....every time I turned away she shoved some in her mouth.

There was enough snow for snow angels!

And as long as we were outside we played a little bit of kick ball and tag.

And we did some swinging on the swings.

Then it was time for hot chocolate in front of the fire! No one really liked the hot chocolate, but they thought the breakable coffee mugs were cool!

RENTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

Cameron's preschool class took a field trip out to the Renton Municipal Airport this morning. It was a fun morning with LOTS to see.

The view from the tower was great!

We got to see a plane being built.....

and a special airport firetruck.....

.....where the tires were bigger than Cameron!

When the field trip was over I asked the kids "what was your favorite part of the tour?" They eached replied "well, the airplanes, of course!" Oh, of course, why'd I even ask???

HAPPY 35th JEFF!

Yesterday was Jeff's 35th birthday and we had a busy day preparing for a little birthday party. First, we all had to decorate...........

We've got little strips of streamers all of our house.....on the walls, up the stairs, even across the stairs so that you have to duck to go up.

Everyone helped daddy open his presents. He got a very special mug that Rena picked out, a coffee maker from Cameron (that I really wanted), a webcam so that he can talk to his brother on the computer, and most importantly he got his 2-year subscription to the Family Handyman magazine so that he can learn all he needs to know to remodel our house!

Then we all had to have cake. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting........not Jeff's favorite, but definitely the kids'.

Here we are making the cake. Again, EVERYONE had to help!

TUBING AT SNOQUALMIE

Yesterday we took a trip up to the Mountain to have some fun in the snow. It was a beautiful warm day up there and we all had fun.

Jeff and Cameron went tubing down the mountain. At first Cameron wasn't so sure about things and rode with Jeff on his tube, but after just a couple of times down he was having fun and was ready to ride on his own.

Cameron's the one coming down on the left.....

The girls and I just played in the snow while the boys were tubing. Now that we've checked out the tubing and Cameron is comfortable going on his own we might all be able to do the tubing next time.

Rena kept trying to make snow angels, but was very disappointed that the snow was just too hard. She didn't give up, though, she would lay down and try every chance she got!

RENA'S OWN STYLE

Most mornings Rena insists that she pick out her own clothes and get her self dressed....which is fine with me -- one less thing that I have to do. Usually she looks pretty good even though she doesn't usually match. However Sunday was a little different story......here she is dressed and ready for church. She did just as I told her to when she received this dress from Santa -- she put on a shirt underneath it and made sure she covered her legs. I think I told her to wear tights, but she decided that a pair of Maleah's sweats (which are way to short for her) would be better. And the striped purple and black socks were just an added bonus. She came out of her room very proud of herself saying "do I look beautiful?". Which she did -- in her own way. And everyone at church thought she was beautiful too!

Oh, and she took this dirty, naked baby doll to church with her also. I wonder if her Sunday School Teachers were worried about her (and our family) after we left! :)

CAMERON'S FIRE STATION

Cameron (and Jeff) finished the last of the Lego fire stations yesterday. It took a few days to get them all done, but here they are! Let's hope he plays with them for awhile before they get taken apart and he wants to build them again!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's hard to believe that another year has flown by already. 2007 was a happy and fun year for us. We had some great times and feel very lucky for all that we got to do and all of the friends and family that we got to see through the year.

We wish everyone a Happy 2008 and hope to catch-up with friends near and far throughout the year!

Jeff, Stefanie, Jill & Leif -- we made it to midnight........barely!

The kids had fun playing and then "resting" with their friends. Cameron was the first one to fall asleep with Maleah following him, then Christian and Campbelle and then finally at about 11:30pm Rena was the last one to doze off. We got them all loaded in the car at about 12:30 and no one even remembers the ride home. They even gave us a treat and slept in until after 8:00am this morning........whew -- the year's starting off good! :)
