CAMPING

Last weekend we drove up to Palomar Mountain for a night of camping.  We loaded the van full of supplies on Saturday morning and drove about an hour and a half to the state park camping park.

Here's everyone helping unload the van once we got there.....

Everyone wanted to help with putting up the tent.....

It's up and ready (with an air mattress and all!).....

After we set up our camp area we decided to go on a little hike......

After the hike it was time to light that fire and cook some dinner!.....

Yummy hot dogs.....

......and some jiffy pop popcorn.....

The kids had a great time running around exploring our campsite.  They had this big tree that was down that they climbed on for hours.....

Jeff got all of the kids these headlight flashlights.  They thought they were great and they wore them to play hide-and-go-seek in the dark.  Maleah is just trying hers on to be ready for when it gets dark!.....

Hanging around the campfire.....

Maleah's hiding spot......

This is Rena telling her "ghost story" (none of them were scary, but they were really funny!)  She was very dramatic when telling her stories and was up acting everything out......

I think Cameron's favorite part of camping was that he got dirty, very dirty, and didn't have to take a shower (if you can get past the funny face you'll notice the layer of dirt on there!)......

Morning time!  Jeff making coffee........

Rena enjoying her hot chocolate.....

Hanging by the fire......

Yummy pancakes and sausage.......

Maleah is ready for the day......

Time to take the tent down......

.....and put the fire out.....

We all had a good time on our first family camping trip.  It was a lot of work for just one night so next time I think we might shoot for 2 or 3 nights.  It was a very fun time, though, and if the kids have anything to say about it we will be doing it again very soon!

After we left our camp site we drove up the mountain just a little bit further to the very top.  It was a beautiful view......

That looks like fun. You are going to need to buy a trailer next. It is much more comfortable. :)
