SUNDAY IN TACOMA

We spent our day on Sunday touring Tacoma. Our first stop was The Tacoma Glass Museum. We parked at the Tacoma dome and took the free train downtown.....

Pretty glass.....

After the Glass Museum we made a stop at the Valley Pub, forever known to us as the Valley Tavern (as was originally named by Grandma and Gaggie when they first opened it over 50 years ago). It was a little early for a drink (and Megan & Alex were waiting in the parking lot), but it's always fun to stop in and take a look around.....

Our next stop was Stadium High School. Dad taught here for years and they have recently remodeled the school so we stopped for a look. It really is a beautiful building.....

Dad's name is on this brick (you can't see it, but it's really there).....

Stacy, Peggy and I were going down memory lane on this fire escape.......20 years ago when dad was teaching here his room was up on the 4th floor and during one of Peggy's visits we decided to climb this fire escape to surprise him......yes, he was surprised.....and probably a little bit embarrassed too!

After Stadium we headed to Ruston Way and the waterfront.....

Stacy was less than thrilled that we were singing Happy Birthday to her at The Ram -- (the mud pie was good, tho!).....

After our busy, fun day.......it was time to relax and have a drink! :) Peggy had a few too many.....

OK, these drinks were really mine and Tami's......but Peggy really was there in the bar with us!!! :)

Peggy went home before us, but she was in good spirits when we woke her up coming in at 2 o'clock in the morning.....

Unfortunately Peggy didn't even get to go back to sleep.....she got up and Stacy took her to the airport. Our fun weekend was over! :( And, YES, it was FUN!! I just love it when we are able to all get together. We laughed the whole weekend and just had a great time together.....I can't wait until we can do it again!

You were the north end of Tacoma which was where Vern and I loved for 10 years. We both went to the University of Puget Sound and love all the areas of town you were in. Stadium High School is awesome except when you hike down those stairs to sit on the opposite side in the sunken stadium and then have hike back out. Christy used to play soccer games there. So glad you had a wonderful time. We miss you all.
