OUR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

We started our holiday early by picking Cameron up at school on Tuesday afternoon and heading straight from school to Peggy's house in Naperville.

THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING

On Wednesday morning we rode the train from Naperville to downtown Chicago. We caught the last non-stop train at 8:30 in the morning and arrived downtown just a few minutes after 9:00am. Cameron thought it was great and especially loved riding on the top level of the train.

After we arrived downtown we walked from the train station to Macy's on State Street (which is the former Marshall Fields). It is known for it's beautiful Christmas tree and decorations both inside and outside the store.

We ate lunch around the Christmas tree in Macy's and we all got a little sprinkle of glitter from the fairy.....so that all of our wishes will come true!
Cameron loved the 5th floor of Macy's -- it was an FAO Schwartz toy store.....
After lunch and some browsing around in Macy's we headed back outdoors to look at some Christmas decorations and see downtown. Rena hadn't been feeling very good on Tuesday night so while we were outside on Wednesday we kept her well bundled up.........
THANKSGIVING DAY

It was a cold, but beautiful day!

Oh no.......Jeff's in the kitchen!! :) Peggy prepared a delicious meal for us and we got to enjoy it with Peggy, Tami, Kari, Craig, Carter, Noah and Rylee. We had a lot to be thankful for again this year and although we were missing our friends and family back in Washington we were thankful to be spending time with our family here in Illinois!
Rena wasn't quite sure about Tami's dog, Oliver, when they first arrived, but within a short time she thought he was pretty fun. She even made him a pretty red skirt to wear for the day!

After dinner the kids did some crafts. Here's Rena, Noah and Cameron.....
.....and Carter and Maleah painting some Christmas sun catchers that Peggy got for them.
The kids also decided to put on a little play after dinner. We still aren't quite sure what it was about, but the kids looked cute and had fun!

Maleah didn't want to be in the play and Rylee was just too little for a part so they sat with Peggy in the audience.

And after all of their hard work they had to have some dessert!!

THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING

The girls and I had a fun time decorating Peggy's Christmas tree with her on Friday morning.

Whew -- it's been a busy few days.........time to rest!!!!
