We woke up this morning to a white ground and snow falling. Cameron thought it was really cool and even went out in his pajamas to get the paper for me!
Later on in the day Cameron and Jeff went back out and shovelled the driveway and walks. The girls really wanted to go out and play also, but they both have colds (and being the mean mom that I am I said "no"), but I assured them that they will have MANY MANY more opportunities to play in the snow!
We started our holiday early by picking Cameron up at school on Tuesday afternoon and heading straight from school to Peggy's house in Naperville.
THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING
On Wednesday morning we rode the train from Naperville to downtown Chicago. We caught the last non-stop train at 8:30 in the morning and arrived downtown just a few minutes after 9:00am. Cameron thought it was great and especially loved riding on the top level of the train.
Maleah didn't want to be in the play and Rylee was just too little for a part so they sat with Peggy in the audience.
And after all of their hard work they had to have some dessert!!
THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING
The girls and I had a fun time decorating Peggy's Christmas tree with her on Friday morning.
Whew -- it's been a busy few days.........time to rest!!!!

Yesterday was "Thanks and Praise Day" at Rena and Maleah's preschool. Each class made a few special things and each sang a few songs.
Rena's class made themselves shirts, hats, necklaces and drums........
Maleah's class made themselves hats, shaky things and colorful string things.....
After the feast it was time to sing. I was really proud of both girls. They have been practicing their songs for weeks and they both stood up with their class and sang all of the songs. Rena played her drum and Maleah did her hand movements (when she wasn't waving to Cameron & I). They both really did a great job and had fun doing it!

Yesterday was a bit chilly around here (the high hit 34) but it was dry and the sun was out so we headed to the local neighborhood park. We were bundled up pretty good so the kids didn't mind the cold weather at all. Plus, I figure we better get out now before it gets even colder and the ground is covered in snow!!

The kids and I drove up to Naperville this weekend where Peggy lives to visit for a couple of days. My cousin Gimi and her youngest son, Scott, who live in California were there visiting so we got to see all 3 of my cousins! It was really a fun weekend (it would have only been better if Stacy could have been there so that us 5 girls could have all been together again!).
Gimi with Rylee, Kari, Peggy, Tami with Oliver and me!
The boys - Cameron, Scott, Carter and Noah
The girls - Maleah, Rylee and RenaOn Saturday afternoon while we were up North visiting the family we all decided to take a trip to the LegoLand in Chicago. Cameron is crazy about legos and was so excited to go.....he told me at 6 am on Saturday morning that he hadn't slept all night long because he was so excited and couldn't wait to go!
This is "miniland" - "see Chicago in miniature - and perfect in every detail". It was made with nearly 1.5 million lego bricks. This was only about 1/2 of the model.....it was really amazing!

For all you bloggers out there -- I finally did it.......I turned my blog into a book! I've been talking about doing it (as many of you have heard) for a long time and I have finally got it done (atleast a portion of it)!
Now -- it wasn't as easy as the website makes it sound. When you look at the website it says "slurp your blog into a book". Well.........it does put all of the content there for you, but the original formatting does not look pretty! I spent many hours (one of my projects while Jeff was on his last trip and the kids were in bed) formatting my pages -- and I went very basic.
I really had fun doing it and I am really happy with the final result. If you want to look at a preview of my book you can see it at: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/397786
And now that I have a record of our "happenings" I'm going to stop feeling guilty that Rena's baby book only has her name in it and Maleah's hasn't ever even been taken out of the box! :) Atleast they'll have this to look back on!
AND.....BEWARE, I may be doing even more posting now that I know it will eventually end up in a book that we will have forever!

Maleah spent the morning today at Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria having some tests done to see if the condition that she was diagnosed with almost 2 years ago had corrected itself yet.
Back in December 2006 she was diagnosed with Vesicoureteral Reflux (VUR) - a condition where urine flows backwards, from the bladder back to the kidneys. She has been taking an antibiotic daily since she was diagnosed to prevent any kidney infections and we were hoping that after the test today she would no longer have to take the medicine. Unfortunately after her ultrasound and another test called a VCUG (that was a tough one!), we were told that she still has the reflux and still needs to be taking the antibiotic.
Maleah was such a big girl during her tests -- she was so good listening to the nurses and doctors and doing exactly what she was told to do. She laid perfectly still during the ultrasound (except when it tickeled)! There was some crying during the VCUG, but I think I would have been crying too if they were doing it to me. The nurse kept telling me how she was the best 3 year old they've ever had! I was so proud of Maleah for being such a big girl and getting through the tests!!!
After all tests were over Maleah was awarded a "Certificate of Bravery" from the Children's Hospital of Illinois. She also got a fun goody-bag filled with stickers and a few other things and on our way home we made a stop at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for a treat!

After MANY Halloween celebrations it finally arrived -- trick-or-treat time.......
We walked the neighborhood with a couple of families -- this is Amelia, Rena, Madeleine and Maleah.....
After we did some trick-or-treating we headed back home to hand out candy. We really decorated the house up this year. Our ghost moved from the house to the light post and made spooky sounds, Jeff triggered a fog machine from indoors and we had some spooky music coming from the house. We didn't get as many trick-or-treaters as we thought we would, but we still had a fun time decorating and handing out candy.
